Roland L. “Rocky” Robin – President/Founder/Broker

I attained my pre-med undergraduate studies degree at Tulane University and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeast Louisiana University with a designation in Pharmacy. I was a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Louisiana for thirty-five years and I owned and operated a drug store before entering the field of real estate development. I have been a licensed Real Estate Broker since 1963, at which time I started my commercial real estate company and originally named it Roland L. Robin and Associates, Inc.
From 1970 through 1978, I served as Vice President of Real Estate and Construction for Chart House, Inc., the largest franchisee of Burger King Restaurants with 367 restaurants, along with Chart House Steakhouse, Luther’s Barbecue and Godfather’s Pizza totaling 1,250 restaurants in 48 states and 4 countries.
In 1978, I returned to my real estate firm where I continued to located sites for Chart House, Inc. Some of my achievements as a developer and owner has been office buildings, industrial parks, medical complexes, hospitals, nursing homes, outpatient surgery centers, and shopping centers.
Sue serves as executive administrator and brings an extensive financial background to DDC. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administrator and later received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting/Finance from Northwestern University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She also has had a real estate license in Louisiana for twelve years, which aids her in her capacity as Accounting and Finance mainly in the leasing, property management, and development for the company.
She also serves in the same capacity for Roland L. Robin & Associates, Inc., another company owned by Roland L. Robin. She oversees both company budgets, finances, and the company client’s pro-forma, for the various developments, engaged in DDC. Sue performs all the accounting and banking duties for DDC as well as produce monthly reports for both owners and developments.
She has worked with the Governor’s Office of Women Services, and is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in the State of Louisiana and served as Administrator at Mathews Memorial Nursing Home in Alexandria, LA.
She has implemented new policies and procedures, which has increased the efficiency at the office tremendously as well as streamlined the productive capacity of the companies.

Janita joined Derek Development Corporation (“DDC”) in 1993 and served as Executive Administrative Assistant to the Owner/Broker for 15 years. During that tenure, her skills and knowledge of the real estate development industry were greatly expanded and enhanced. The many different projects in DDC’s portfolio ranged from 90,000 square foot neighborhood strip centers to the one million square foot Lake Charles Power Centre.
After leaving DDC in 2008, she joined Gulf State Real Estate Services out of Covington, LA and worked in the newly opened Lafayette branch as a sales/leasing agent. She was involved in the development and leasing of the Evangeline Court Marketplace in Carencro, LA and introduced Super One Foods to that market where they are now experiencing great success. She also served as the leasing agent for the renovation and redevelopment of the Channell Shopping Center in Hammond, LA.
In December of 2014, she joined the DDC team once again serving as sales and leasing agent for their diverse portfolio of projects comsisting of the development, leasing and management of several 20,000 square foot strip shopping centers, office/industrial parks and an 80-acre multi use development as well handling site selections for national residential builders and national restaurant franchisor/franchisees.
Janita holds a GRI (Graduate of the Realtors Institute) designation and is a licensed broker with the Louisiana Real Estate Commission.
